What is Vibrational Frequency

Vibrational frequency is the term used to describe and scientifically measure your state of consciousness. It is the rate and speed at which matter and non-matter vibrates and is measured in hertz (Hz) frequency.

Everything in the Universe, physical and non-physical, is made of energy and constantly moves and vibrates on a quantum molecular level. An inanimate object, like a couch, also vibrates, but much slower than you or I.

As humans, our vibrational frequency consists of our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energy—or, as Eastern philosophers put it, the trinity of mind, body, and spirit.

Enlightenment researcher Dr. David R. Hawkins has studied and scientifically proven that, indeed, various spiritual states of consciousness have different frequencies.

Emotions labeled as negative, like shame and anger, have a lower frequency and vibrate slower, putting them lower on the emotional vibration scale.

A lower frequency also explains why these emotions feel denser and heavier when we experience them.

Conversely, emotions labeled as positive, like love and joy, vibrate and oscillate quicker and, therefore, have a higher frequency rate, putting them higher on the emotional scale.

To illustrate, this is why when you’re happy and having fun, you feel lighter, free, and fresh, and time seems to move by quickly.

And when you are sad or depressed, you feel heavier, tired, and fatigued, and the perception of time appears slower.

What Does Raising Your Vibration Mean?

woman-standing-raising-arm-rainbow-birds-vibration

Raising your vibration means moving from a lower to a higher state of consciousness.

You transcend sadness, apathy, depression, guilt, anger, shame, jealousy, resentment, and bitterness and ascend to states of contentment, peace, joy, love, bliss, and beyond.

Or, to put more simply, moving from fear-based states to love.

Some spiritualists call this process the stairway to heaven or your spiritual ascension.

Why is Raising Your Vibration Important?

Raising your vibration is important because, ultimately, your body is your first home. Imagine your being (body, mind, spirit) like a city.

It can be New York City—crowded, congested, polluted, angry, conflicted, and your triggers are taxi cabs honking and fire trucks, police, and ambulance sirens sounding off. (No offense, NYC, I love you!)

Or it can be a beautiful paradise, like the Maldives—calm, peaceful, happy, soothing, serene, joyful, and inviting.

Additionally, raising your vibration has added benefits, such as attracting dreams and desires that align with health, wealth, and happiness.

The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like, and you attract what you ARE and not what you want.

So when you raise your vibe, you’ll attract people, situations, and objects of the same vibrational match as you.

Can You Really Raise Your Vibration?

Yes! The key to raising your vibration is first shifting your paradigm to being.

Being means your state of being—your overall emotional temperature.

For instance, you can have a moment of love, but your overall predominant state of being could be sadness, depression, and anger.

Conversely, your overall emotional temperature can be love, peace, and joy. And even if you feel a moment of anger, you always return home to love quickly.

Equivalent to the ocean and waves analogy, you are the ocean of love, and if need be, let anger and sadness be momentary waves that ripple through you.

So, to raise your vibration, from a short-term perspective, it’s about finding ways in your daily life to complement the long-term vibration you want to maintain.

For all of us, we strive for some form of fulfillment, happiness, peace, love, joy, success, health, and connection.

From a long-term perspective, it’s about solidifying the connection to self and the Universe, shedding the ego, releasing old baggage, healing old trauma and wounds, letting go of negative and unhelpful ways of thinking, and beginning to draw love and joy from within (non-dependent of externals).

According to Dr. David R. Hawkins, most people who work up the scale of enlightenment will generally keep their vibration up there around love and not venture away too much.

He’s correct. I can see the process happening in my life.

How to Raise Your Vibration

The first step to raising your vibration is to set an intention to prioritize your well-being. And channel your life energy towards this goal.

When I prioritized my well-being, meaning I started to truly value, take care of, and love myself at a deep level, things started to really change.

Your path opens up, and you instinctively devise solutions for operating in your own life according to the themes and situations you encounter.

Another way to raise your vibration is to find hope and motivation toward your future.

For instance, if you want to manifest a relationship with the Law of Attraction, use your external outcome to encourage and motivate you to raise your vibration towards love.

Finally, know that raising your vibration is a process, and work with yourself with where you are at.

If you feel sad, don’t avoid it or minimize it; just let it be there and find ways to help yourself find more joy, love, and peace.

27 Ways to Raise Your Vibration

How to raise your vibration

1. Know Your Power

Know that your source of love and the feel-good vibrations are generated from within.

You have the power to self-heal, transform, and increase your spiritual vibration, and you can tap into yourself for everything that you need.

Love, understanding, acceptance, kindness, generosity, compassion, and more. All the goodies are in you!

2. Let Go of the Past

If you want to manifest using The Law of Attraction or The Law of Assumption, you must let go of the past and be willing to master this.

As per Dr. Joe Dispenza, most people’s physical bodies are in the past. And your physical body houses your subconscious, which is manifesting your life.

There are different ways to let go of the past. You can forgive, practice detachment or non-attachment from Eastern philosophy, or try daily affirmations for letting go

Another powerful technique is the Revision Technique by Neville Goddard, where you can revisit a memory to revise the past.

3. Surrender to the Present Moment

When spiritual teachers teach us to surrender, what does it mean?

Surrender is not giving up. Surrender is a combination of relinquishing control and finding acceptance while trusting the divine, trusting that, in the end, it will all be okay.

Surrender to what you feel in the present moment and let the Universe carry some weight, too. You don’t have to carry it all on your own. You are taken care of.

4. Adopt a Prayer Practice

Prayer is a beautiful way to draw up high vibrational energy and help you find inner peace, stability, and connection to your source.

According to Neville Goddard, the correct way to pray is to bring your subconscious to a state of wish fulfillment.

5. Hang Out With Fun and Supportive Friends

Nothing is more nourishing than hanging out with fun friends who champion your overall happiness, don’t have an agenda, and let you be you with full acceptance. The good, bad, and ugly.

Call up a friend and schedule a date, connect, and do high-vibrational activities together.

6. Exercise

We all know exercise has many benefits, from physical, mental, and emotional to sweating out toxins and improving confidence and self-esteem. The list goes on!

If you are getting bored with your workouts or want to start a new routine, check out my articles on different exercise activities

7. Meditatation and Pranayama

If you want to be a powerful manifestor, meditation is a must. Pranayama practices can also help aid your meditations.

There are various ways to meditate and different reasons to meditate, but meditation is necessary for manifesting for two reasons: to become aware of your overall vibration and to clear your thoughts.

If you tend to overthink, then meditate, meditate, meditate.

8. Pick Up a Hobby You Enjoy

Hobbies can help you learn more about yourself, get creative, be childlike, play, express yourself, and connect with others.

Choose hobbies that you are naturally drawn to. If you are not feeling particularly creative but would like to, I recommend reading The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron

It’s a 12-week self-help system for creatives and artists; it can help unlock some innate talents. Here’s my article on my experience with The Artist’s Way

9. Gratitude Journaling

Gratitude is every spiritual teacher’s favorite vibration. Every culture preaches gratitude, so it isn’t a cultural thing but a human thing.

If your gratitude account is low, start by listing three qualities that you are grateful for about yourself. Then, slowly expand out.

Then, choose one person in your life and name three things about them. Then, your job, your pet, your city, the Universe, a negative experience in your life, and so on. And then dwell on it.

10. Become a Pro at Forgiving

Forgiving is a part of the letting go process and the final phase of healing. Forgiving is the opposite of condemning and is linked with compassion.

If you can forgive yourself and others quickly, this signals that you are in a healthy place emotionally.

But if you find it hard to forgive, no worries.

A powerful technique you can try is Neville Goddord’s Revision Technique.

According to Neville, to revise the past is to forgive the past. Revising the past helps you live in Christ’s spirit, a continuous state of forgiveness.

A continuous state of forgiveness is the best state of consciousness from which to manifest. It’s free and limitless.

11. Incorporate Self-Love Practices

Raising your vibration really is about learning self-love and becoming love.

Self-love expert and speaker Christine Arylo breaks down self-love into ten areas, making it more practical to grasp.

Self-respect, self-honor, self-worth, self-trust, self-care, self-esteem, self-honesty, self-pleasure, self-forgiveness, and self-acceptance.

Find where your self-love is low and find practices to help increase self-love.

Here are a couple: self-love affirmations and self-love journaling.

12. Positive Affirmations

We affirm who we are, whether positive or negative, every moment of the day.

Daily affirmations can help upgrade your beliefs, manifest your desires, turn your self-concept from negative to positive, and, most importantly, raise your vibration.

Affirmations are best done in the morning when you wake up and before bed.

Here are a couple of affirmations to get you started:

13. Creative Visualization

Creative visualization is a powerful way to manifest your desires. But did you know you can also use creative visualization to raise your vibration?

Yes, you can use creative visualization to revise the past or visualize success by living in the state of the wish fulfilled, which puts you in an optimistic mood.

Here are a couple of articles on The Law of Assumption and 17 Neville Goddard’s Techniques to help you with creative visualization.

14. Do Something Kind For Someone

It’s always heartwarming when someone does a kind act for you and vice versa.

Whether it’s remembering someone’s birthday, smiling at a stranger, giving someone a meal, or just giving a friend honest advice without needing anything in return, it can help you get out of your head and raise your vibration. LOL 😉

Do what you can with where you are at. If you have a little, give a little. When you have more, give more.

15. Don’t Be Hard On Yourself

I call being hard on yourself—secondary commentary. Secondary commentary can take the form of self-criticism or self-judgment.

The judgment we put on the experience weighs our vibration down and does not solve the actual problem. It leads to depression, fear, anxiety, and more.

If you find that you are hard on yourself, the remedy is gentleness, kindness, and compassion toward yourself.

Every problem can be solved without this unnecessary added emotional weight.

16. Dance and Move Your Body

According to Eckhart Tolle, “You are not your mind.” Dancing is a fun way to get out of your mind, move your body, connect to your soul, and express yourself.

There are so many dance disciplines to choose from, from classical Ballet to Bachata to dance movement healing therapy. Get out of your mind and free your body!

17. Allow Extra Time to Get to Places

Okay, I have to give my parents credit for this one. LOL

But as per The Law of Attraction, you attract what you are and not what you want, meaning you attract your vibration.

To raise your vibration is to eliminate internal and external situations that cause chaos, conflict, anxiety, and frustration, creating and attracting more obstacles.

Allowing more time helps you flow with time and connect to the Universe instead of running against the hands of time and against life itself.

Running against time creates the vibration of opposition and resistance, as there will never be enough time.

If you get frustrated with time often, switch your internal dialogue from “there is not enough time,” which technically means “I am not enough.”

And affirm, “There is plenty of time” and “I am enough.”

18. Cultivate a Spiritual Practice

Cultivating a morning or evening spiritual practice can help create more calm and balance, which helps raise your vibration.

There are many spiritual practices, from meditation, breathwork, yoga, journaling, walking in nature, reading spiritual texts, or watching spiritual teachers.

Starting your day with a 10-15 minute spiritual practice is all you need to connect to yourself and the Universe and create positive vibrations.

19. Watch Spiritual Teachers

Watching spiritual teachers with whom you resonate can help increase your well-being and raise your vibration if you are undergoing a deep change or a spiritual awakening.

Learn from their perspective and internalize their vibration. Spiritual teachers naturally have a healing effect on you.

20. Listen to Uplifting Music

If you are undergoing a spiritual awakening and are a music lover who tends to connect to sad and depressing vibrations, try eliminating lower-moody songs as you integrate your new self.

Sometimes, empaths will take on the vibration and the song’s story without noticing it.

Switch and listen to uplifting or healing music as you stabilize your new positive vibration.

21. Observe Happy People

Observing others can help you see yourself more clearly. Notice happy and content people in your life.

They naturally are doing things differently. They most likely will have some form of self-acceptance, take responsibility, are growth-oriented, have internal boundaries that work for them, don’t avoid things, and have self-honesty.

They are at peace with themselves and their lives while growing and hitting the next milestone.

22. Don’t Take Things Too Personally

If more than a handful of people have told you that you take things too personally, helping yourself in this area will significantly increase your well-being and raise your vibration long-term. Now, this is not to negate other people’s negative behavior or other people blaming you for things, but if you notice a pattern that you take things too personally.

Taking things too personally signals that you don’t like a particular area of your life or something about yourself. Or, you could be going through a phase of self-inquiry, so your self-esteem or self-worth is in question.

You can reconcile taking things too personally by either accepting that trait or that area or working to improve that area.

Here are self-esteem and confidence affirmations to get you started.

Also, here is a helpful book on how to handle rejection and transform it into self-acceptance: Don’t Take It Personally by Elayne Savage

23. Detach From Externals and Go Inwards

To truly be well and joyful in the long term, you have to change your locus of control from external to internal.

If you are undergoing a spiritual awakening, it is helpful to spend time alone so you can become clear on who you are and what changes you would like to make. Some people enjoy lovely walks in nature or start spiritual practices.

24. Find Humor in Your Daily Life

woman-with-hair-buns-sunglasses-smiling-and-laughing

Finding things to laugh about in your everyday laugh can uplift your mood.

If you are taking everything too seriously, find friends with a sense of humor to be around to help you see the world through their eyes. Watch funny, light-hearted movies and comedies together.

In the grand scheme of things, everyone has strengths, flaws, and quirks that make life more exciting and fun.

The happiest people can laugh at themselves because they accept themselves.

Laugh at the fact that you are a terrible singer, the worst cook, can never make it to places on time, or have a huge ego.

It can help ease things up, move you toward self-acceptance, and encourage you to make any necessary changes.

25. Develop a Consistent Mental and Emotional Hygiene Check-In

A consistent emotional and mental hygiene check-in is equivalent to checking your finances, maintaining the cleanliness of your home, or taking your vitamins.

It helps to check in on your mood levels weekly or monthly to avoid harboring resentment and anger at anything or anyone.

If something is bothering you, try to gently, peacefully, and compassionately take care of it in the moment or promptly.

That way, you can keep your energy (prana life force) flowing so emotions don’t get backed up, repressed, or avoided.

26. Ho’oponopono

Ho’oponopono is a popular ancient Hawaiian self-healing technique that calls in forgiveness and gratitude vibrations. If you have trouble with forgiveness, this technique is perfect for you!

Ho’oponopono script:

I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.

At night, before bed, place your hands on your heart space and take deep, long breaths. Then repeat the script into your body and really mean it. Say it to the person you are thinking of or just to yourself. Call up the vibrations of the words and fall asleep.

It works. Try it out!

27. Know Your Boundaries

As with anything from finances to creativity, to have freedom, you need structure.

Knowing your personal boundaries and when you are acting out of alignment is one of the major keys to emotional freedom.

If you have trouble with boundaries, take some time to make a list of your boundaries and gently work on them one at a time.

Closing Thoughts on How to Raise Your Vibration

And voila! Raising your vibration can do wonders for your life. Remember, your body is your home. Keep it well, joyful, and peaceful.

I’d love to hear how it goes!
